Dear Ex-Pointers,

Since its inception, ASPEXS has been providing a vital platform for interaction amongst the multitude of Pointers globally and boasting of a membership across the country and abroad. Apart from organising regular get togethers and reunions as well as maintaining a web site, we also take part in various welfare projects having social relevance and at the same time try to provide exposure to talents within our community.

The ASPEXS Medical Wing has been formed recently with as many as 58 Pointer Doctors offering to volunteer their services to the School as well as to ex-students and teachers (both present and retired). A free medical check up camp was organised on 6th April 2008 for our teachers and was appreciated by all. We also aim to provide financial assistance to present and ex-students who are passing through times when they need such help.

The ASPEXS CARE WING has been formed in June 2008, with the objective of taking care of our beloved teachers who have retired after having given valuable years of their life to the service to our school. Care Team members who have volunteered to act as Primary Care Givers, keep in touch with these teachers on a regular basis and report back their needs to the CARE Steering Committee. We are also trying to build a steady corpus, so that their crisis can be met to a certain extent.

We request all Pointers to contribute generously in raising funds for the various welfare projects being undertaken by the Association, especially for the CARE project. It would also help you to know that all donations to the Association are exempt u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act in the hands of the donor. Contributions can be made in any of the following manner:

1. By way of a cheque / pay order payable at Kolkata in favour of “ASPEXS”. The cheque can be delivered by post / courier service to “South Point Ex-Students’ Association, 16 Mandeville Gardens, Kolkata 700019 India” or handed over personally to Mr. Dean Surtee at this address during office hours. Cash is also accepted strictly against receipt.
2. NRI Pointers are requested to send Rupee cheques payable at Kolkata (through their NRE accounts or if desired through their relatives or friends) or alternatively they may pay in foreign currency through a SWIFT Transfer into our ICICI Bank account, details of which are given below:

It is very important to note that in case of contribution in foreign exchange, a photocopy of the self-attested passport of the donor is required to be sent to us at our registered office. Please also send us an advance scanned copy of the same by
email to donations@aspexs.com.
Presently we are making a special effort to raise funds for financing the objectives being undertaken by the ASPEXS CARE Wing, so in case you want your contributions to be earmarked for this, kindly mention that the contributions should be credited to the CARE Fund of ASPEXS.
